It is one of the SOF truths, that “most special operations require non-SOF support”, so it shouldn’t catch you by surprise that subject matter experts (SMEs) willing to repetitively offer some kind of training are surely welcome in the SOF medical community. There is a lot to be done – just don’t ask for the money, don’t try to steal the limelight nor play the first violin, and you are up for the most gratifying experience of your educational career.
In case you were hoping for a long bio with all the details about who I am, I have to “disappoint” you… You can surely hear in my podcasts that I wasn’t born on the Western side of the Big Pond, but those Dudes who landed in Normandy weren’t born there either! 😉 Just know that I have what it takes to do what I do, and those who need to know who I am, are surely aware. In the end it’s not about me. It’s about the SOF Medics, their mission and whatever I can do to support it, while striving to live by the same rules they do… In this community humility goes a long way, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. It is an honor and a privilege to serve your special crowd! It is my way of saying “thank you”, and saluting your efforts!
Last but certainly not least, please know that none of this would have been possible without Bill V’s mentorship on SOF-everything, Rock’s word of wisdom built upon experience, Heathe’s real-life scenarios, or your feedback and suggestions received in class.
P.S. I don’t represent any government authorities. I am a grateful ER doc whose heart is in the right place… Just like COL Maggie! This lady is one of my heroes!
